 | I never considered watching this because I am a fan of the movie and thought it would be a dumb series to make and it would never work. Well, just finished season 1 on HBO/MAX and I was hooked.  | Don't know why some people don't like this series! For me personal the movie was great and now the series is totally gripping from the first episode on in my opinion! 1001 train wagons that drive around the icy world for years! This scenario of the world being icy landscapes and a temperature of - 120 celcius outside that freezes everything in seconds to its death would be a gruesome scene if it where real and not fiction! This situation I pray will never ever happen or the whole world would be literally fucked! Imaging nothing alive outside anymore because of these freezing death temperatures and always on the look out of snow avalanches that could one day bury the train or the train tracks!  | Jennifer Connelly is the sving grace of this whole series. Her acting carries most of the series. But I have to say Daveed Diggs is bloody awful in this! who cast him? I feel his acting is totally unbelievable and ruins what could have been something fantastic.  | Ik this is a prequel but I wonder if it will actually follow the storyline that leads up to the movie with this being the retelling of one of the failed attempts of the tail to take command of the train that was mentioned in the movie? Now I know that Melanie in the series is playing the part of Mr, Wulfric, and in the movie there supposedly was a Mr. Wulfric, unless the guy in the movie said he was Mr. Wulfric but in reality he was just someone who took over the train and assumed the identity of Mr. Wulfric, like Melanie has done. Personally with the series I would like to think that Mr. Wulfric is real and probably is in stasis and that Melanie was the one who organized her own mutiny and put him there and assumed his identity. I could easily see that Melanie was the genius behind the snowpiercer and that Mr. Wulfric was just the head of the company and assumed command of the train with the ice age and didnt actually know how to handle it and Melanie seeing this established a coup, and took command and put him in stasis. Then this series will unravel and we will see him potentially get freed and take command again and with him not knowing how to actually run the train as Melanie and her engineers knew, and he is the reason it was in such disarray by the time of the movie.  | For anyone that thinks this series is either a remake or a new plotline I'll explain. In this series the snowpiercer is around 7 years into departure which means the series takes place over 10 years before the movie.
