 | I thought Trudeau was calling parliament because conservatives have been winging about it. Now it's because they need to fix their legislation? Because they couldn't predict the level of necessary business loans? I am willing to bet if the conservatives were at the helm they would have stuck with their initial broken reaction because they would not want to be made fun of for fixing it and would rather take the heat for just not doing enough and calling it "fiscally responsible".  | The government say the bank, visa, GAS, Electric company are helping canadian, I do not see how they are helping. They say you can delay payment but they still charge Full interested rate + on top of each month that you are behide in paying. I do not see VISA or Mastercard lower there interest rate or other Utilities company. So how is that helping when you are stilling charging interest and on top of this EI website is not working, phone line are busy, and government website that suppose to help you with EI is close. there is no answer when you email.  | This Trudeau minority government has the weakest mandate of any government in Canadian history, with less than one third voter support in the last election. It should really move the House of Commons and the Senate proceedings to some venue where the social distancing regulations can be respected and keep it in session. Things are just moving too quickly not to have Parliament in session and this government is always playing catch-up. Last week Morneau was “trying to explain why wage subsidies of up to 75% were not necessary”. Now he is announcing them. It’s tragic for the country that this is the government in charge in such a crisis, but at least if Parliament went back into session and stayed in session, it could make sure the Liberals didn’t govern unchecked. Seniors don't need to phone United Way to get emotional support, they need to more money to buy necessities, doing fun home activities, and eat better, hire nursing people.
